One of the newest additions to the Studios 301 team, Sam Troy’s audio journey sparked whilst playing in rock bands as a teenager. He soon found himself songwriting, producing and recording these bands, which lead him to study both contemporary performance and audio engineering.
After completing his studies, Sam developed his craft working at a number of studios throughout Sydney alongside artists such as Dizzy Roots, The Wiseman’s Circus, The Spitfires, Dr. Phibes Blues Band, Ivana Pasovicova, Bohemian Co., Spines and Buffalo Trio.
In 2019, Sam joined the in-house team at Studios 301 where he continues to hone his skills as an engineer working alongside some of the industry’s biggest acts and the most respected engineers in the country. He has most recently engineered projects for an array of artists including XMPLA, The Moonhounds and The Wiseman’s Circus.
His passion for audio is focused on capturing the energy in the performance of each band or artist he works with. Sam draws on a range of musical influences across many genres including blues, soul, gospel, folk, rock, country, and jazz across many decades.
