On November 28th the 2018 Grammy Award nominations were announced, and excitingly they include several works by Studios 301 clients.
Congratulations to Coldplay who have been nominated in two categories this year, including best Best Pop Vocal Album (for ‘Kaleidoscope’ EP), and Best Pop/Duo Group Performance (for “Something Just Like This” with The Chainsmokers). Both of these projects were recorded at Studios 301 as part of the last official band session in our Mitchell Road facility. The session was assisted by by 301 engineer, Owen Butcher.

A further congratulations to Kesha. Capping off her redemption narrative in glorious style, the pop star’s single “Praying” is up for Best Pop Solo Performance, and ‘Rainbow’ is up for Best Pop Vocal Album. The single “Praying” was partially recorded at Studios 301 last October with Ryan Lewis and Ben Abraham laying down the guide vocal, some piano, and the hair-raising gospel harmonies in Studio One. 301 engineer Antonia Gauci was on engineering duties for this session.
A big shout out to all of the Australian music acts nominated for Grammys this year including, singer and music producer Sia, Hillsong Worship, legendary act Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and our 301 favourites Mansionair.
The winners will be announced at the ceremony on 28 January at Madison Square Garden in New York.
