November – Studio & Mastering Highlights

In the lead up to the end of the year, November has been a stacked month consisting of writing camps, open days, conferences, ARIA week events and some amazing sessions.

50 Songs In 5 Days

50 Songs In 5 Days took over the studios for a whole week, as well at the 120 Publishing writing camp which collectively featured over 100 of Australia’s best songwriters, producers, and artists including AB Original, Savage, Vera Blue, Kilter, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Thelma Plum, Illan Kidron from the Potbellies, CLYPSO, Montaigne, Angie McMahon, Kota Banks, Cyrus, Isaiah, Glades, Jai Waetford, CLEWS, Thandi Phoenix, Coda Conduct, Milan Ring, Hugh Sheridan, Sister Peach and many many more.

Studio highlights

FITZY & WIPPA Present the trailer for WONDER PARK

Studio highlights included legendary recording icon Sir Bob Geldof gracing us with his presence for a listening sessionproducer Basenji and Miss Blanks, Simon Cohen and Electric Fields, a band recording session with ivey and Owen Butcher, an all-star session in Studio 2 with MXXWLL, Milan RingBen Sekali, Timomatic and more recorded by Stefan Du Randt, and even a feature film recording in Studio 2 with Fox Studios. More highlights include our engineer Tom Garnett mixing the latest release from Aussie band The Montreals, post engineer Mario Gabrieli mixing and dialogue editing Paramount Pictures 2019 animated film Wonder Park, in addition to the Marais Project recording a new album in Studio 1 under the direction of engineer Bob Scott and our very own Jack Garzonio. 

Events

Events included our Producer & Engineers BBQ where we honoured legendary producer Martin Benge with a lifetime achievement award, featuring a live performance from ARIA nominee Alex Lahey and Mansionair DJing.

We also hosted a “Managing Mental Health Workshop” by Support Act, PPCA, and AccessEAP as part of ARIA week.

In addition, we were home to the The Australian Sound Recording Association (ASRA) annual conference which was held over 2 days across the whole facility. 

Mastering Highlights

Leon Zervos has been mastering new music for Peking Duk, Slum Sociable, Hillsong (France, Portugal, Korea, Netherlands, Thailand), Stan Walker, Hugh Sheridan, ASTA, Paul Kelly, Alvin Chong (Malaysia), Lila Gold, LDRU, Fergus James, Trent Bell and Sam Bluer.

Steve Smart Mastering

Steve Smart has been mastering for The Bennies, Aydan, The Montreals, Bunga Citra Lestari (Indonesia) and These Winter Nights.

Ben Feggans has been working on projects for Suburban Dark, The Strides, Neon Cassettes, Matt Graham, The Bonnie Doons, as well as remixes for Eves Karydas and Tyne James Organ.

Andrew Edgson has worked on releases for Little May, FROYO, Cheyenne Tozzi, Los Leo, RACKETT, Goodnight Japan and Lady King.

Harvey O’Sullivan has mastered tracks for Werrman and Cameron Douglas.
