My name is Jack Garzonio and I am the new General Assistant at Studios 301. I oversee the studio internship program.
My journey and love for music started when I was really young, spending my teenage years playing in a band wherever a stage was available. I soon fell in love with the magic of mixing sounds and playing with knobs and faders, so I became a roadie and soon after an audio tech for a PA company. During these years I toured around Europe and had the pleasure of working with iconic artists such as Gloria Gaynor, Umberto Tozzi and Lisa Minelli.
After that, I decided to venture into music production and built my own studio with a couple of mates (if you ever go to Milan, check out RecLab Studios, I am pretty proud of it). That was all fun and good but then I decided to move to Australia, where I began on the same path all over again.
Studios 301 had always been on my radar and when I was called to be an intern in 2016 I was thrilled. What a year it was! During my internship, I had the opportunity to work alongside some of Australia’s best producers and engineers and welcomed some amazing bands to the studio, including the legendary Coldplay.
When Studios 301 decided to make the big move from the iconic Mitchell Road site, I was asked to be part of the decommissioning team; I’ll never forget taking apart and moving the Neve 88r and the 9000k that helped to create some of the best Australian and International music we’ve ever heard.
After the decommissioning, I had the pleasure of being part of the team that built the new multi-million dollar facility in Ellis St and let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing!
I am ready for this new challenge as the Studios 301 General Assistant and I look forward to working with new talented people.
If you are interested in being part of the dream and feel you can be a valuable addition to our team, email your resume and cover letter to email@example.com
