The Studios 301 crew are very excited at the news that the “I am Woman” Helen Reddy biopic had its world premiere on the opening day of the Toronto International Film Festival Sept 5th. The film, which chronicles the life and career of Australian music sensation Helen Reddy filmed on location at Studios 301 and also our Studios Technical Director, Stephen Crane was a hand picked as the audio technical consultant for the scenes filmed in Sydney for the whole movie. Working closely with the crew, Stephen sourced all of the vintage microphones, tape machines and designed the cables and headphones. Stephen and Studios manager Shelley Bishop excitedly worked closely with the prop managers and stage techs over the duration of 3 days filming at the studios.
Starring Evan Peters and Tilda Cobham-Hervey, the movie will be officially released next year and it looks like it’s going to be amazing, following in the footsteps of other artist biopics like Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman, Yesterday and Blinded by the Light.
